WELCOME
Curra Swans Football Club is a proud community club built on family, fun, and a strong club culture that spans generations.
With teams across Juniors, Youth Girls, and Senior Men and Women, we welcome players, parents, and supporters to be part of the Curra family.
Whether you’re new to footy or returning for another season, there’s a place for you at the Swans — on the field, on the sidelines, or in the wider community that keeps our club soaring.

Our Story
Curra Swans was built on the proud legacy of two longstanding clubs — Townsville Swans (formerly South Townsville) and Currajong. South Townsville helped establish the Townsville Football League in 1954, with Currajong joining the competition in 1961. Both clubs carved out their own histories of success, but when economic pressures emerged, the two united to build something stronger.
In 1989, Curra Swans was born. The newly merged club quickly made its mark, reaching a historic high in 1997 with the first of three consecutive A Grade Premierships — a testament to the passion and resilience embedded in its foundations.
Pioneers like Jim Muldoon, Eric Johns, and Graham Nicol helped shape Curra Swans into the club it is today: proud, community-driven, and committed to developing the next generation of footy talent across Townsville.
